A husband, wife, and their pet dog died after being hit by a vehicle on May 13 in Taybank. The driver reportedly suffered a medical emergency at the time of the incident.
According to police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, it is alleged that at about 18:24, two pedestrians (husband and wife) were walking their dog on Warbler Street, Taybank.
“It is further alleged that the driver of a VW Golf TDI suffered a medical condition while driving in Warbler Street in the direction of Westering and collided with the couple who passed away on the scene with the dog,” she reported.
SAPS Kabega Park detectives are now investigating a culpable homicide case following the fatal accident.
Janse van Rensburg stated the names of the deceased will be released when the next of kin has been informed.
