Jubilee Year 2025: His Holiness Pope Francis, Bishop Vincent Mduduzi Zungu, and the Catholic Diocese of Port Elizabeth will host a Holy Mass for the inauguration of the Jubilee Year 2025, featuring the solemn opening of the Holy Door, the blessing of Jubilee candles, and the commissioning of parish representatives. This will take place at St Augustine’s Cathedral on Friday, January 10, at 10:00. The Jubilee Year 2025, themed “Pilgrims of Hope,” is a global call for spiritual renewal, peace-building and hope. Pope Francis invites the faithful to engage in pilgrimages, community celebrations, and acts of service throughout the year.

EP Bonsai Society: A bonsai meeting will take place on Saturday, January 11, at the Newton Park Methodist Church Hall on the corner of 3rd Avenue and Newton Street, Newton Park. Does Karate Kid stir your interest in bonsai? Did you get a bonsai tree for Christmas? We can’t teach you karate but you will certainly need friends to help you with the care and growing of your tree. There will be advice from senior growers.
