Two Gqeberha U/19A rugby teams found it tough going playing away from home on Saturday.
Grey High made the trip to East London to take on Selborne College. It is a rivalry that goes back to 1926 and this time the result of 27-14 was in favour of the home side.
Pearson High was on the road to the Western Cape. The visitors put up a brave effort but Parel Vallei won this tough battle 20-10.
It was a fiercely contested first half in East London with both sides scoring spectacular tries. The try by the Grey centre Bradley Myburgh was a real gem!
The sides went into the half-time break locked at 14-all. The second half was a huge disappointment for Grey when Selborne scored a further 13 unanswered points.
In this period Grey didn’t look organised at all, made a lot of mistakes and they didn’t use the opportunities to put points on the board. Selborne was delighted with their well-deserved victory.
Playing at home in Gqeberha, Framesby got back to winning ways and beat Marlow Landbou 27-0.
Die Brandwag was too strong for Daniel Pienaar in this Kariega Derby, winning 26-0.
