Entries are now officially open for the 4th annual Pretty in Pink Ladies 5km, taking place on Saturday, August 9, in celebration of National Women’s Day.
The event invites women of all ages to walk or run 5km along the iconic Nelson Mandela Bay beachfront, starting from this year’s new venue at King’s Beach, Summerstrand.
With the 2025 theme “Wildly Inspired”, this much-anticipated event is a call to action for women to embrace their strength, celebrate their individuality, and connect through shared purpose.
The flat, accessible route is perfect for participants of all fitness levels, whether seasoned runners or first-time walkers, and promises a morning filled with colour, energy and empowerment.
The first 3 000 entrants will receive a branded race t-shirt and a value-packed goody bag, making early entry essential. Official Pretty in Pink merchandise is available online with free local delivery courtesy of Fastway Couriers, ensuring participants can gear up in time for race day.
In the lead-up to the event, social media competitions will be hosted on the Pretty in Pink Ladies 5km Facebook page, with fantastic prizes donated by community-driven sponsors.
By entering, participants not only join a movement of health and solidarity, but also directly support key women-focused charities including Vision4Women and PinkDrive.
Race Director, Carmen Bishop of Zsports Events SA encourages early participation and creative flair, stating, “The 2025 theme is more than a tagline – it’s a mindset. Wildly Inspired is about taking bold steps forward and showing up with purpose. This Women’s Day, we’re asking women across the Bay to walk united in pink and make a statement that cannot be ignored.”
