The Junior Proteas will take on their England counterparts in the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup quarterfinal today.
Leading the team is George van Heerden, who was the head boy at Grey High School in Gqeberha last year.
The Super League contest will get under way from 15:00 CAT at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, with the match shown live on SuperSport Grandstand and Cricket.
Supersport.com reported that the South Africa under-19 head coach Shukri Conrad, said his side is fully focused on the task at hand.
The South African side won against Ireland in their previous match, with skipper Van Heerden scoring an impressive 111 runs from 93 balls. He smashed eight sixes and three fours to lead his side to 315/7 before Ireland were removed for 158, to seal a victory of 153 runs.
In-form Dewald Brevis also contributed with a handy 96 off 122 balls, while Matthew Boast (3-25) and Liam Alder (3-20) starred with the ball.
