GQEBERHA CHURCH ROBBERY: 5 SUSPECTS SOUGHT

Five armed, masked men stormed a Booysen Park church yesterday, robbing 50 congregants of valuables before fleeing in the priest’s Toyota RAV4.

Five church congregants were targeted by armed robbers at a church in Galant Street, Booysen Park, yesterday, May 5, as reported by Chatty police.

According to the SAPS spokesperson, Captain André Beetge, the incident occurred at approximately 18:30 when five armed and masked men allegedly stormed the church and robbed around 50 congregants of their mobile phones and other valuables.

“The suspects fled in the church priest’s white Toyota RAV4, which was later found abandoned in Chatty 5, Chatty. The vehicle has been taken for forensic analysis,” added Beetge.
