Johnny Arends, Ward 34 Democratic Alliance Councillor, has died in a fatal accident on the R75.
This was announced on Facebook this morning, April 26, by Councillor Rano Kayser, the DA’s Caucus Leader in Nelson Mandela Bay.
“It is with great sadness to announce the passing of councillor Johnny Arends (Ward 34). Cllr Arends was involved in a fatal accident at the R75 & M17 crossing between Despatch and Port Elizabeth.
“The family in consultation with the organisation will keep residents posted on further developments.
May his dear soul rest in peace!” Kayser said.
In a Facebook post by the Democratic Alliance, Arends was described as a devoted public servant who tirelessly dedicated his life to serving the Northern Areas community.
