Gqeberha police are searching for an unknown woman who allegedly set an Eagle Liner bus alight after a dispute. According to a police statement, the woman allegedly disputed with the bus company on Cape Road, Newton Park, opposite Greenacres, on Thursday morning.

The woman allegedly threatened to burn one of the buses. She then left the building and set a bus parked outside the bus depot alight using an unknown method at this stage.

“The unknown woman fled the scene afterward, while the bus burnt out completely and caused fire damage to a second bus that was parked next to it. SAPS Mount Road members attended to the scene, and are still looking for the female in the vicinity.

A case of Arson has been opened,” said Captain Andre Beetge of SAPS.
