The Eastern Cape Hawks spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Avele Fumba, confirmed that the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation, known as the Hawks, is investigating a shooting incident involving a female Regional Prosecutor, Tracy Brown (47), who was allegedly attacked by four unknown armed suspects.
He added, “The incident reportedly occurred on Thursday, 31 July 2025, in the Algoa Park policing precinct, Gqeberha.” It allegedly took place outside her home in Young Park in the presence of her partner and young daughter.
Fumba stated that a dedicated task team is on the ground, pursuing all possible leads. “We urge anyone with information that could assist the investigation to come forward. All details will be treated with the utmost confidentiality,” he concluded.
