Gqeberha has long nurtured talent that shines on local and national stages, and culinary entrepreneur Siphamandla Manqunyana is no exception.

A self-taught cook and the founder of Spha’s Cookout, Manqunyana has redefined the dining experience by blending unique flavours, inspired creativity, and cultural storytelling through food.

Spha’s Cookout, established in 2022, is more than just a culinary brand – it is an innovative dining and lifestyle experience, offering fine dining services for weddings, birthdays, office meetings, and private chef experiences.

“Every dish is a reflection of a journey, a story told through the language of food. Rooted in the cultural heritage of Gqeberha, each recipe carries a unique blend of tradition and modern flavour,” the chef explained, sharing his vision for the brand.

Since its inception at Makers Landing in Cape Town, Spha’s Cookout has grown significantly, hosting celebrated dining events in Gqeberha. The brand’s success has not only enhanced the local culinary scene but has also earned Manqunyana national recognition, including a guest judging role on a television show sponsored by Rainbow Chicken.

The next chapter of Spha’s Cookout will take place on April 27, with the much-anticipated Sunday Brunch event at Phaka Restaurant. In collaboration with brands such as Robertson Winery, Pesto Princess, and Phaka Restaurant, the event promises an unforgettable experience for attendees. Guests can look forward to bottomless mimosas, a Harvest welcome snack, and a selection of exquisite dishes from the menu.

“This isn’t just a dining event – it’s a platform for networking, celebrating culture, and indulging in the finest flavours Gqeberha has to offer,” Manqunyana added, highlighting the essence of the Spha’s Cookout Experience.

With perseverance and a creative spirit as his guiding principles, Manqunyana is turning food into art, and Gqeberha into a culinary hot spot.

The Sunday Brunch promises to deliver more than a meal – it offers a journey through flavours, culture, and meaningful connections, solidifying Spha’s Cookout as a frontrunner in Gqeberha’s ever-evolving lifestyle and culinary scene.
