Since performing in a theatre production at the age of eight, Georgia Neve (24) had her sights set on the world stage.

The actress, comedian, and writer whose roots sprouted from Gqeberha and Pretoria followed her dreams to Los Angeles where she is currently based. “I’ve always been drawn to storytelling and the ability to play – to step into someone else’s shoes and live a whole other life,” Neve shared with the PE Express.

A 2024 New York Film Academy BFA graduate (Cum Laude) she is trained in both dramatic and comedic performance, including improv and screen acting.

Her work includes writing, producing and starring in the short film Searching for Grace, which won the Special Jury Award for Best International Short Film at the Thilsri International Film Festival and was a finalist at the New York International Film Awards.

Reflecting on her childhood, Neve ruminated: “I lived in Gqeberha from the age of 9 to 12 where I attended St George’s Primary School. My father and sister still lived there up until about 2019 where I would frequently go and visit.”

In 2017 she chose Dramatic Arts as an elective subject in high school which nurtured her talent.

“That’s when my passion really started to take shape. I continued pursuing it through my acting studies and training, which eventually led to my move to LA in July 2021 where I began working more professionally.”

With a promising career ahead, the actress shared which creative projects she’s pursuing.

“There’s a lot of opportunity for me to actively perform stand-up comedy shows which I will definitely take hold of,” said Neve. “The stand-up has been a great way to develop my comedic voice and connect with live audiences. I’m also actively auditioning and hoping to take on acting jobs along the way.”

Additionally, she will be diving into a fantasy world in a stage production that is set for next month.

The Bladesmen of Pyrus Prii — a fantasy stage play written by my very talented friend, T.W. Steward. I’m really looking forward to diving into that world, and hopefully, there will be more shows to follow.”

In a separate project, Neve is collaborating with other creatives to put up original improv and sketch comedy shows.

“It’s a super fun way to stay connected and actively keep working on our craft,” she said.

Inspired by fellow creatives and people she meets in her daily life – the actress is filled with passion and big dreams.

“I feel constantly inspired by the people around me, my fellow creatives – the people I meet in classes or on sets. The people I do improv with and just the general community I’ve built around me here in LA.”

She has trained with one of the original members of The Groundlings – the iconic LA-based comedy theatre and training ground whose alumni include Will Ferrell, Kristen Wiig, and Melissa McCarthy – and remains active in the local improv scene. Her next show is actually at the Groundlings.

“Being surrounded by such passionate and creative individuals really fuels me, seriously the people I take classes with or see on stage are so super talented it’s intimidating but also deeply motivating and something to work toward.”

Other sources of inspiration include watching great movies and shows.

“Just being in LA, being in the heart of it all… walking by the studios or being on active sets, or just being in class reminds me that I’m right where I need to be and I’m so fortunate.

“It’s definitely a push to stay focused and a great motivational force to keep following my dreams and grab every opportunity by the horns.”

Neve continues to perform stand-up and sketch comedy while developing new work across film, stage, and digital platforms.

Her upcoming projects include:

· A feature film, Natasha Mail Order Bride: Escape to America – The Movie

· A lead role in the fantasy stage production, Sword Play: The Bladesmen of Pyrus Prii

· A short film, Black Peel, is currently in post-production for the 2025 festival circuit.
