A 31-year-old man was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds in Motherwell on Saturday, March 22.
According to police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, at about 17:00, SAPS Motherwell was conducting patrols around NU5 when community members stopped them.
Community members informed the police about a vehicle on Gugura Street, NU5, containing a deceased individual.
“On arrival, they found the deceased (31) in his vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. According to information at the scene, the passenger was rushed to hospital for treatment,” she reported.
She added that the motive for the attack and the suspects remain unknown. A case of murder and attempted murder is under investigation.
