A motorcyclist (26) has died after losing control of their motorbike on Saturday, May 24, at the Kariega and Van Stadens turnoff on the N2.
According to police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, at about 17:15, the driver of a white Honda 1000cc Fire Blade motorcycle lost control of his vehicle.
She revealed at the time of the accident, the driver was traveling with a female passenger towards Gqeberha.
“According to information gathered at the scene, the driver passed a truck on the N2, shortly thereafter, he lost control of the motorcycle and overturned. The driver passed away at the scene and his female passenger sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment.”
“The name of the deceased will only be released once he has been officially identified.”
Following the accident, SAPS Kabega Park has opened a culpable homicide case.
