Leach has been in custody since October 2021, when Vicki’s body was found in a shallow grave in Greenbushes on the outskirts of Gqeberha.
He was her boyfriend at the time of her death.
Leach, alongside Arnold Terblanche, who was Vicki’s estranged husband, made a brief appearance in the high court on Friday. The case has been postponed to May 31.
During Friday’s court proceedings, Terblanche’s legal representative, Peter Daubermann, stated that his client is “perturbed” that the trial is unlikely to start on October 9 as planned.

He added that they contacted the Deputy Judge President to gain clarity on why the matter is not likely to proceed on that date.
During today’s court appearance, Terblanche, who was released on R 1 million bail in February last year, was neatly dressed in a leather jacket and jeans. He was accompanied by his daughter, Natalie Nell.
As previously reported by the PE Express, Vicki was allegedly drugged, suffocated, and or strangled. They had allegedly also robbed her.
The two’s co-accused, Dylan Cullis, was sentenced to 18 years imprisonment after he admitted guilt in March, last year.
