The Framesby rugby side is full of confidence for the upcoming Wildeklawer Tournament for high schools, after an emphatic win over Daniel Pienaar.
Framesby’s first match of the tournament in Kimberley will be against Garsfontein on Saturday. They take on Welkom Gym on Monday.
On their home ground, this past Saturday, the Gqeberha-side was too strong for DP and ran in eight tries in the wet conditions to win 50-6.
The Kariega visitors did well to only concede 12 points in the first half but Framesby ran away with the match with 38 unanswered points in the second half. DP will get a chance to get back on track when they play Otto du Plessis in Kariega on Saturday. An interesting match will be Nico Malan hosting Muir College in Humansdorp. Nico Malan won well against Despatch and Muir showed what they are capable of, although going down to Brandwag.
Most teams had to play on wet fields after some welcome rain in Nelson Mandela Bay last weekend but adapted very well to the conditions. The drier conditions will make things a bit easier for the players, though, in the upcoming clashes. With today and Monday being public holidays, some fixtures might still change but the spectators can look forward to lots of action.
