Framesby will be very happy to be back at home in Gqeberha on Saturday after a torrid time on the road.

They will take on the Hudson Park first XV in one of several rugby clashes to look forward to in Gqeberha this coming weekend.

Framesby has a chance to get back to winning ways against the East London visitors, but it will be a character test after heavy defeats away from home.

In their last three matches Framesby managed to score just 12 points, but conceded a massive 201 points!

After the Kearsney Festival in Durban they were beaten 75-0 by Oakdale in Riversdale. Then it was off to Kimberley for the Wildeklawer Tournament which has become one of the biggest school sports events in South Africa.

Netball, soccer and hockey are also part of the tournament, but rugby is the main attraction.

The Paarl outfit Boland Landbou beat Framesby 64-5 and this past Saturday it was Helpmekaar from Johannesburg who helped themselves to 62 points, beating Framesby 62-7.

A positive aspect from the Kimberley Tournament for Framesby is that they had the opportunity to take a good look at some of the opponents they still have to face this year.

One of them is Nico Malan from Humansdorp who made their debut at this prestigious event.

Outeniqua (George) and Marlow (Cradock) were also in Kimberley and will also take Framesby on later this year. Luckily for Framesby they won’t have to face Oakdale again who was also in Kimberley.

The tough assignments don’t stop for Grey High who will be at home in Gqeberha against Wynberg High, who make the trip from Cape Town.

This annual fixture is usually an entertaining one and talented players will be in action.

Grey will be full of confidence after two solid victories. They beat Dale College at home and on Saturday they got the better of Pretoria Boys High in Pretoria.

After a dull first half in which both sides relied heavily on their mauling game, the match came alive in the second stint.

After trailing 19-10 at one stage, Grey fought back nicely to win by 37-29. Grey scored five tries to four.

Another very interesting match will be when Pearson High hosts Nico Malan in Summerstrand.

As usual the Kariega teams are part of a rugby weekend in Nelson Mandela Bay.

Die Brandwag can be proud of their impressive away record this year, beating Daniel Pienaar, Marlow and Muir College.

This Saturday they are at home to face Kingswood College from Makhanda.

Selected fixtures: Pearson v Nico Malan, Punt v Daniel Pienaar, Framesby v Hudson Park, Despatch v Otto du Plessis, Grey High v Wynberg, Brandwag v Kingswood.
