A teenage girl has been killed after shots were fired at a residence in Reid Street, Vanes Estate in Kariega last night, November 10.
Just before 22:00, shots were fired through the sliding door of the house. Keisha Goliath (15) and a 36-year-old woman sustained injuries.
Police spokesperson, Capt. Sandra Janse van Rensburg, said that both victims were rushed to hospital, however, the teenager died.
“Suspects and the motive for the shooting are unknown at this stage and the investigation is ongoing,” she said.
SAPS Kariega Station Commander, Brig. André Swart, has activated the immediate implementation
of the 72-hour activation plan following the incident.
Cases of
murder and attempted murder are under investigation.
