The Hawks have launched two separate investigations following the kidnappings of two businessmen in Gqeberha over the past weekend.
According to Hawks spokesperson, Avele Fumba, the incidents occurred in Sidwell on January 18 and in Korsten on January 19.
Fumba stated, “In Sidwell, five armed suspects were involved, using a black BMW with unknown registration plates.
“In Korsten, four armed suspects used a white Volkswagen Polo to commit the crime.
“Due to the sensitive nature of these ongoing investigations, we are unable to disclose further details at this stage.
“However, our primary concern remains the safety and well-being of the victims,” he added.
Fumba revealed that a specialised kidnapping task team of the Hawks is already assigned to these cases and is actively pursuing all leads.
“We urge anyone with information related to these incidents to come forward. All information will be handled with the utmost confidentiality.“
