GQEBERHA – A 28-year-old female suspect from Bethelsdorp was arrested for severely assaulting a 3-year-old boy.
According to SAPS spokesperson Captain Andre Beetge, the Mount Road Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) arrested a female suspect on a charge of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm (Assault GBH).
He added that this followed after a viral video clip emerged on social media.
“In the clip, a 3-year-old boy was severely assaulted by a female suspect,” Beetge said.
Through police investigation, the suspect was arrested yesterday, 25 November 2025, in Bethelsdorp.
She will be facing a charge of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm in the Gqeberha Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, 27 November 2025.
Police investigation is continuing as additional charges could be added.
