Chloe-Jade is a Grade 6 learner at Summerwood Primary School.

In a letter sent to the Express by her school’s ICT Head, Bronwen Jonson, she has said that Chloe-Jade is one of those remarkable kids who, no matter what life throws at her, continues to rise.

“Her Granny, who she lives with, made us aware of the charity work which she started in Grade 5 in 2024. Early in 2024, Chloe-Jade had a heartfelt idea—to give something special to children who have nothing at Christmas. (She always prays for those living on the streets and those in need),” the letter said.

A letter that was sent to Chloe-Jade.

The letter said Chloe-Jade had started collecting teddies and asked her Granny to find out which organisation needed them the most.

The letter also revealed that this year as a part of the Mr and Miss Eastern Cape Primary Schools Competition, Chloe-Jade has gone above and beyond.

She has done the following:

  • Chloe-Jade asked her uncle to sponsor cupcakes so that she can spoil the SAPS and also gave some to the Netcare Casualties.
  • Chloe-Jade helped at a soup kitchen; she also collected blankets and handed them out.
  • Chloe-Jade donated clothes and Bibles to a family who lost their home in a fire.
  • Chloe-Jade handed out toys and spent time at Livingstone Paediatric Ward.
